- Welcoming skiers since 1906, Chamonix is one of the oldest ski resorts in the French Alps as well as the host of the first winter Olympics. Often the go-to destination for advanced skiers, this resort boasts 119 slopes. Whilst skiing is still the main draw, Chamonix has plenty to offer away from the slopes, such as ice skating, golf and trail running with 350km of marked trails to explore. The village is home to a fantastic selection of bars and restaurants, including Albert 1er which has been awarded 2 Michelin Stars, and L’Auberge Bois Prin, which was purchased in 2020 by Emmanuel and Kristine Renaut, owners of the renowned Flocons de Sel à Megève.
- The town centre remains one of the most in-demand areas of the Chamonix valley. The proximity to amenities and to the transport links are its principal attractions. Chamonix is a true year-round town which means that it is possible to generate rental income in the summer months as well as during the ski season. From golf to hiking, there is plenty to do in the warmer months and, according to the tourism office, the number of overnight stays in the summer rose by 100,000 between 2018 and 2019
- Careful to retain its rustic charm, Chamonix has grown organically over the years and is a Flocon Vert resort thanks to its commitment to sustainability.
