Vallorcine

After a pass and a nature reserve, the village of Vallorcine retains its traditional Savoyard charm, and it is the last village in the valley before the Swiss border.

A river crosses this bucolic valley surrounded by mountains: it is a haven of peace for nature lovers looking to escape, with a village shop and a few good restaurants. The train allows you to reach the bottom of the valley in the event of significant snowfall on the road or to reach the start of the mountain bike trails in summer.

The village has a cable car that connects it to the Le Tour ski area, as well as superb cross-country ski trails and many hikes to do from the village.

The Vallorcine valley is mainly made up of old farms and chalets, but there are also some apartment residences. Because it is further from the center of Chamonix, property prices tend to be a bit lower there than in the rest of the valley.
